Skilled Machinist – Heavy Milling

SUMMARY

Location:
Church, Accrington, BB5 4EF

Hours:
Basic of 36 hours per week with opportunity for overtime.

Responsibilities include:

Machining parts from 1m to 5m in length.
Following offline programming documents which include job set-up, tooling sheets & methods required for machining sequences.
Changing tools/inserts & alter offsets to maintain parts to required engineering specifications.
Downloading CNC programs and save proven files.
Operating manual machining centers if/when applicable.
Measure and inspect manufactured items to assure accuracy to the drawing and report any deficiencies to the inspector and your manager.
Identify equipment maintenance and repair needs.
Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
Produce work to the quality standard required whilst keeping waste to a minimum.
Follow written instructions, safe working practices and to always maintain a safe and tidy work area.
Help improve safety, quality and productivity through the continual improvement process.

Key Attributes:

Must have a minimum of 5 years experience using multi-axis CNC milling machines.
Ideally with experience of gantry style equipment with universal head Fanuc control.
Reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings.
Have high levels of concentration and focus to achieve production targets and scheduled customer deadlines.
Knowledge and experience of lifting using overhead cranes & setting/clamping of large parts up to 5 tonnes.
Evidence of training in safe use of overhead cranes & forklift truck preferred.
